The orange box below is also located on your team page to assist you.
Age-Based Verification (Settings)
Age-based rules mean that all players on the team cannot be older than a certain age before the cutoff date set by the tournament or league. For example, the AAU age cutoff date is 8/31 of the current year. A 14-year-old division would mean a player could not turn 15 BEFORE 8/31 of the current year. To verify your team for an age-based event just check Age-Based, set the maximum age and the cutoff date to match the tournament’s rules you are trying to enter.
Grade Based Verification (Settings)
The Grade Based setting and the rule is simple. Just mark your team for Grade Based and choose the grade your team will participate in. Then all players that are in the grade you choose no matter their age can participate in any tournament or league that is using that rule.
Grade Based with Age Limit Verification (Settings)
This eligibility requirement is becoming more and more popular with tournaments and leagues. This rule says that the player MUST in the grade but there is also an age limit to the players who participate. For example, the 7th grade with 13 age limit cutoff 8/31/ of the current year says that the player must be in 7th grade and CANNOT be 14 BEFORE 8/31/. To set this turn on grade based and choose the appropriate grade for your team. Then turn on age limit and enter the age and cutoff that matches the tournament or league your team is entering.
Grade Based with Grade Exception Verification (Settings)
If you are entering a tournament or league that allows a grade exception it means it is a grade based division that allows a player who is one grade higher than the rules of the event BUT is age-eligible to participate. For example, the 8th-grade event with grade exception age limit 14 cutoff date of 8/31 says the 9th grade who DOES NOT turn 15 BEFORE 8/31 can participate. To add these settings to your team turn on the grade of players and choose the grade. Then turn on the grade exception and enter the max age and cutoff date that matches the tournament or leagues eligibility rules.
Grade Based with Floor Setting
The Grade Based with a Floor Setting allows event directors to make a minimum grade for players to have to be in to make them eligible. For example: If the division is for 8th graders an event director can choose 7th grade as the floor setting, which would mean 6th graders and under would be flagged as ineligible. If the director makes the floor setting 8th grade then all players in the division will have to be in 8th grade.
